The Healthy Being Group highlights the links between environmental change and emerging health impacts world-wide. There is a sense of urgency and a need to act together to bring about system change to protect our environment and the future of all living things. This involves local grass roots communites creating partnership with professionals in the NHS, Social Services and other statutory bodies for a healthier, more equitable society.

The group is looking at community initiatives that can meet the challenges of Government-imposed austerity which affect the most vulnerable in our society, whether through lack of support for the mentally or physically unwell, cuts to the welfare state, increased homelessness or fuel poverty.
This begins with creative collaborative thinking, which links health and well-being with locally sourced nutritious seasonal food, physical activites reminding us of our inter-connectedness with the environment and social inclusion.
